The U.S. State Department postponed until May 25 the release of a report about gold transactions between Nazi Germany and wartime neutrals. State Department officials said more time is needed to prepare the report and its presentation. A follow-up to a study released last year that focused largely on Switzerland’s wartime financial dealings, the report is intended in part to deflect criticism of Switzerland onto other neutral countries that traded in Nazi loot.
