The U.S. Supreme Court turned down the appeal of a Hindu professor who challenged moments of silence at graduation and other events at Tennessee State University in Nashville. The high court rejected without comment the appeal, which alleged that the moment of silence was intended to encourage prayer and therefore amounted to an unlawful infringement on individual religious rights.
