The umbrella organization of North America’s Jewish federations announced it will become a full partner in Birthright Israel and pledged $52.5 million to the program over the next five years. The United Jewish Communities joins the Israeli government, which has pledged $70 million, and 14 philanthropists, who have pledged a total of $70 million, in supporting the program that sends Jewish young adults on free 10-day trips to Israel.
