The Union of Councils for Soviet Jews has announced three new affiliates, bringing the total of autonomous units within the organization to 19. The new units are the Alabama Committee to Soviet Jews (ACTS) in Montgomery, the Minnesota-Dakotas Action Committee in Minneapolis, and me Chicago Action for Soviet Jewry. Mrs. Irene Manekofsky, vice-president of the Union, said she believed the Alabama group is the first action unit for Soviet Jewry in the south.
