The United Jewish Communities is considering changing its name. The North American federation umbrella, which was created from the merger of three national Jewish organizations — United Jewish Appeal, United Israel Appeal and Council of Jewish Federations — is looking into calling itself the United Jewish Appeal, because that name is better known than UJC.
