The United Jewish Communities will cut off funding for its Trust for Jewish Philanthropy. Founded in 2000, the Trust was intended to build relationships between the Jewish federation system and Jewish philanthropists by catalyzing new ventures and providing consulting services. At the same time, the UJC announced that it had hired a new chief financial officer, Samuel Astrof, senior vice president and CFO of the United Way of New York City and a former partner at Ernst & Young.
