The United States and Europe could impose sanctions on Israeli companies because Israel is on a list of 15 countries considered “noncooperative” in fighting money laundering, the director general of the Israeli Treasury said in an interview with the Israeli daily Yediot Achronot. Although the Knesset passed a money laundering law last August, it is often not enforced, Avi Ben-Bassat said.
