The United States cannot effectively pressure Israel to change its policies until the Palestinians crack down on terrorism, Secretary of State Colin Powell says. “We have to stop settlement activity; the president’s made that clear to the Israeli side” Powell said last Friday in a speech to Princeton University. “We have got to get rid of the outposts. We have to make life better for the Palestinian people.”
