The United States may send two envoys to the Middle East next week. The visits by the diplomats, retired U.S. Marine Commander Anthony Zinni and the assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern affairs, William Burns, would come after U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell delivers a Middle East policy speech Monday. Zinni is expected to take over Israeli-Palestinian security dialogues that previously were handled by CIA Director George Tenet.
