The United States urged patience after Palestinian officials accused Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak of creating a “crisis” in the peace process. “It’s not surprising that the differences that developed over three years” during the tenure of former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “will not be worked out overnight,” State Department spokesman James Rubin said Monday. “Even with the best of intentions, it’s going to take time to work out these differences.”
