The United Synagogue of America will sponsor a Conference on Jewish Living early next year to help “reverse society’s headlong dash into oblivion,” president Jacob Stein announced at the closing session of the United Synagogue’s biennial convention several days ago. The conference will begin Feb. 20 at a site to be determined. “We will utilize the talents of our lay leadership, sociologists, psychologists, motivational experts and creative and spiritual leaders” to help answer “the question being asked again and again: what does Judaism say to us that is meaningful in our time and with our problems?” Stein explained. He was reelected for a second two-year term as president.
