The urgent need of buildings to accommodate the increased activities of the various organizations of the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies was emphasized at the twelfth annual meeting of the Federation held here.
The federation has advanced beyond the mere giving of relief in 1928, and has launched a program of active rehabilitation, the annual report showed.
Elimination of about $20,000 of the deficit during 1928 was effected. The report of the federation showed that over $125,000 had been expended in comparison with $24,000 in 1917. The campaign for funds last October reached its objective of $135,000.
The appointment of a service club to assume the responsibility of soliciting a steady flow of funds necessary to carry on the work was suggested.
