The Vatican and the Palestine Liberation Organization decided to negotiate an agreement on the status of Roman Catholic holy sites in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and eastern Jerusalem, according to a news report. The discussions will also deal with properties owned by the Catholic Church in eastern Jerusalem, where the Palestinians hope to establish a future capital.
