The will of Miss Delia Austrian, sister of Alfred Austrian, Chicago lawyer, who died on October 26, was filed in the Surrogates’ Court, disposing of an estate valued at about $250,000.
Miss Austrian left $5,000 to the University of Chicago outright and an additional $5,000 upon the death of her mother, Mrs. Julia Austrian, who receives the income from the residuary estate for life.
The university is also to receive Miss Austrian’s reference library on the drama, prints, paintings and other effects. The Chicago Hebrew Institute is to receive her fiction library. On the death of Miss Austrian’s mother, New York University, Columbia University and Northwestern University will receive $3,000 each and the Michael Reese Hospital of Chicago $4,500.
Twenty-four other legatees, institutions, relatives and friends will receive smaller amounts.
