The World Jewish Congress may seek to block the planned merger of two French banks, claiming they have not made enough progress in settling Holocaust-era claims. Banque Paribas and Societe Generale have maintained an “uncooperative attitude” regarding compensation, charged the WJC’s executive director, Elan Steinberg.
