The World Jewish Congress said it is unlikely that it would attempt to block a proposed merger involving a German bank being sued by Holocaust survivors. A source for the group was quoted as saying that representatives of Deutsche Bank have been “sincere and genuine” in discussions regarding restitution. Meanwhile, Ed Fagan, a lawyer representing survivors in a suit against the bank released documents he said added further evidence to allegations that the bank profited from assets looted during the Nazi era.
