There were 280 anti-Semitic incidents across Canada in 2000, a 5 percent rise over 1999, according to a report issued by B’nai Brith Canada. The number of incidents, which include physical harassment, synagogue firebombings, arson attacks and a cemetery desecration, increased following the eruption of violence last September in the Middle East, the report said.
