Thirteen carloads of matzoth were dispatched to Central Russia and Ukraine by the Berlin matzoth committee. Funds were also sent to Russian Jews in order that they may be enabled to purchase matzoth within Russia.
An official reply from the Soviet Government regarding the duty set for the import of matzoth was received by the Berlin committee. Fifty kopeks per kilogram is the duty imposed. The importation of matzoth flour is entirely prohibited, the committee was informed.
