A thousand Jewish athletes, including a team of one hundred German-Jews and Dr. Daniel Prenn, famous German-Jewish tennis player, will participate in the Maccabiade, Jewish sports festival which will open here August 23. The games were moved here from Czernowitz, Roumania, after the authorities had uncovered an alleged plot by anti-Semites to assassinate Lord Melchett, honorary president of the organization.

Prenn, who was barred from the German Davis Cup team because of his Jewish ancestry, will wear the colors of the British Maccabean organization.

Poland will have the largest team of athletes in the field, having three hundred entered in the various events, which will include wrestling, boxing, football, tennis and field sports. Germany will have a hundred representatives and Palestine, sixty.

Special trains will be run to Prague from various points, including Austrian cities, to carry the large number of spectators expected to attend the games.
