Of the 200,000 immigrants expected in Israel this year, tens of thousands will remain without employment and at least half of them without housing, Dr. Moshe Sneh, of the left-wing Mapam Party, charged today when the Israeli parliament resumed debate on the government budget.
Dr. Sneh asserted that for purposes of immigrant absorption this year the government has only $250,000,000 at its disposal. The sum needed is $500,000,000, which means that “Israel faces the threat of enslavement to foreign capital,” he added.
