More than 700 Jews have been arrested in Zagreb, capital of Croatia, for violation of curfew regulations, according to information reaching here. Twenty-three of them have been sent to concentration camps while the others were forced to pay fines totalling 150,000 diners, approximately $4,000.
Meanwhile, the Rome wireless reports that inquiries are being conducted into affairs of thousands of Jewish shops in Croatia, which are to become the property of Croatia, as a result of the “Aryanization” of Jewish property. The inquiries are confined to shops with capital of more than $7,000, since smaller businesses have already been taken over.
