Thousands of people gathered in Israel on Wednesday to watch the solar eclipse. In Jerusalem, crowds gathered beneath a special filtering canopy to watch the eclipse. In northern Israel, spectators gathered in the Gamla Nature Reserve to observe the behavior of birds who nest in a ravine at the site. At the height of the eclipse, 80 percent of the sun was covered from Israel’s vantage point.
