Several thousand Tel Aviv residents attended a second Herut Party demonstration, held here last night in Second of November Square, to protest against the withdrawal of Israel forces from the Sinai Peninsula.
Menachem Beigin, party leader and chief speaker at the meeting, called on the Government to resign if it could not show enough strength to “discontinue the retreat.” He told his followers that France would support Israel in the international arena. Later, the demonstrators paraded to the District Commissioners office where they submitted a written memorandum demanding that the Sinai evacuation be halted.
