Three Arabs from the West Bank town of Jenin were formally charged Sunday with the stabbing murder of yeshiva student Eliahu Amdi in the Moslem quarter of the Old City on November 15.
The accused, Samer Mahroun, Omar Sa’id and Hamzeh Sa’id, were apprehended shortly after the crime and, according to police, confessed to the killing on behalf of George Habash’s Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a Damascus-based terrorist group.
Police said they had planned for some time to kill an Israeli Jews indicating that Amdi may have been a random victim.
