The 30th anniversary of the B’nai B’rith Hillel movement–launched at the University of Illinois by the late Rabbi Benjamin Frankel–was marked by three days of ceremonies which concluded today with the dedication of an auditorium, a music lounge and other rooms at the Frankel Memorial Building of the Hillel Foundation here.
The B’nai B’rith Hillel Foundations is the religious student organization for Jewish youth on 205 campuses in the United States, Canada and at the Hebrew University in Israel. It provides educational counseling and social activities as well as religious services. The Frankel Memorial Building at the University of Illinois is one of 47 B’nai B’rith Hillel buildings and among the 17 such structures added to the university scene in the United States, Canada and Israel by the B’nai B’rith Hillel Foundations since the close of World War II.
