A demand that the British Government open the doors of Palestine to displaced Jews from Europe and that it fulfil its pledge to establish a Jewish Palestine immediately, were voiced at today’s session of a three-day conference on Palestine held under the auspices of the American Christian Palestine Committee at the Hotel Commodore.
Approximately 300 Jeading Christian clergymen of the Greater New York area heard addresses by Senator Owen Brewster, Republican of Maine, Dr. Carl Hermann Voss, co-director of the American Christian Palestine Committee, and Rabbi Philip S. Bernstein, executive director of the Committee on Army and Navy Religious Activities of the National Jewish Welfare Board. Dr. Henry A. Atkinson, general secretary of the World Alliance for International Friendship through the Churches, was chairman of the session.
