Three eminent Jews were knighted here yesterday by Queen Elizabeth II. They are Dr. Hersh Lauterpacht, until recently professor of international law at Cambridge University; Col. Frederick C. Stern, prominent horticulturist and Jewish communal leader; and Prof Solly Zuckerman, deputy chairman of the Advisory Council on Scientific Policy.
Of the three newly knighted Jews, two were born outside the United Kingdom. Prof Lauterpecht was born in Galicia, while Prof. Zuckerman was born in South Africa.
