Three doctors who, during the Hitler era, acrid as chief advisers in the Nazi euthanasia program, are still teaching medicine at three West German universities, Der Spiegel, this country’s leading newsmagazine, reported here today.
The men named are Prof. Franz Kibn, of Erlangen University; Prof. Friedrich Mauz, of Munster University; and Prof. Werner Willinger, of Marburg University. According to Der Spiegel, all three acted as advisers, between 1939 and 1941, to the T-4 euthanasia section in Berlin, selecting Jewish patients at hospitals and mental institutions for pronunciation as “unfit to live. “
One doctor identified as a member of the Nazi euthanasia team, Prof. Werner Catel, resigned recently after being exposed. Another, Prof. Werner Heyde, who until his arrest two years ago served as an adviser to the Flensburg court, is now in Jail at Limburg, await-in trial as a euthanasia doctor.
