Catholics, Jews and Protestants celebrated Brotherhood Week here during the past week.
The activities of the occasion were brought to a high point yesterday when an inter-faith dinner was held at the Portland Hotel. Dr. Norman Coleman, dean of Reed College, served as toastmaster. E. B. MacNaughton, president of the First National Bank, representing the Protestants, Judge Lusk, the Catholics, and H. Wendel, the Jews, spoke. The significance of the week was set forth from various denominational pulpits.
The second offering of the B’nai B’rith Dramatic Guild, a dramatic one-act play called “Shivah,” by Ben Frank Barzman, will be presented on May 18 at the B’nai B’rith Center. Miss Miriam Rinehart, director, has selected three one-act plays.
