Three former Israeli Cabinet ministers urged President Bush to back a detailed proposal to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The proposal, which includes a two-state solution to the conflict and shared sovereignty in Jerusalem, was put forward in a letter to Bush by former ministers Shlomo Ben- Ami, Amnon Lipkin-Shahak and Yuli Tamir, who served under former Prime Minister Ehud Barak.
