Three Belgian organizations comprised of various anti-Nazi, resistance and war veterans’ groups denounced sharply here today the resurgence of neo-Nazism in West Germany, and called on the Bonn Government to outlaw the right-wing National Democratic Party which has recently won large votes in the state parliamentary elections of the provinces of Hesse and Bavaria.
The Belgian Committee Against Statutes of Limitations for Nazi Crimes, comprised of 22 non-Jewish and Jewish organizations, adopted a resolution urging Bonn to take “appropriate steps” to ban the NDP, to assure Germany and the rest of the world that former Nazis will be excluded from all administrative posts, and to make sure that no statutes of limitations are permitted for the apprehension and prosecution of persons accused of war crimes.
The Comite d’Action de la Resistance, which is scheduled to hold a session here Sunday, disseminated a resolution to be presented to the meeting, urging that “everybody must remain vigilant” against resurgent neo-Nazism in West Germany. The draft appeals particularly to the Bonn Government and the German people “to combat by all means, including existing legal provisions, the revival of the Nazi Party.”
An extraordinary session today of the National Federation of War Veterans and the Armed Jewish Resistance of Belgium took similar action. The resolution not only warned against neo-Nazism in Germany but also charged that “no measures” have been taken by Germany to prevent the revival of Nazism.
