Three Israeli judges received added security protection before issuing a ruling in the bribery and fraud trial of the political leader of the fervently Orthodox Shas Party. Some supporters of Aryeh Deri have threatened to riot in the streets if he is convicted. In a case dating back to 1993. Deri is charged with committing financial misconduct and breach of public trust while serving as a former interior minister.
