Three Israeli soldiers were expelled from their elite paratroopers unit after a member of Hezbollah infiltrated their post in southern Lebanon earlier this month. Israel’s army chief of staff, Maj. Gen Shaul Mofaz, has called the incident, in which the member of the Shi’ite fundamentalist group escaped despite being shot, a “grave operational failure.”
