Sir Sidney Low, the famous journalist and former editor of the “St. James’s Gazette”, Mr. Arthur Collins, late Managing director of the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, and Sir G. Charles Mandleberg, all three of Jewish birth (Sir Charles Mandleberg’s name appears in the new issue of the Jewish Year Book) were cremated yesterday (Saturday) at Golders Green Crematorium.
The Rev. Herbert Trundle, the Chaplain, officiated at the funeral service for Sir Sidney Low, among those present being Lady Low, Dr. M. D. Eder, and Mrs. Eder, Sir Sidney’s sister, and Mr. Richard Haden-Quest, his nephew. A memorial service will be held to-morrow (Monday) morning at the Church of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, and will be conducted by the Vicar, the Rev. P. McCormick.
The Rev. T. C. Dale officiated at the funeral service for Mr. Arthur Collins, and the Rev. J. Sylvester Roulton officiated at the funeral service for Sir Charles Mandleberg.
Sir Henry Lesser Rothband, one of the Jewish baronets, brother-in-law of Sir Charles Mandleberg, and Joint Managing Director of the Mandleberg firm, was among those present at the service.
