Three Middle East envoys are expected to meet U.S. officials in Washington to discuss the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Andrei Vdovin of Russia, Terje Roed-Larsen of the United Nations and Miguel Angel Moratinos of the European Union will meet Assistant Secretary of State William Burns Thursday. The envoys are likely to press the United States to resume high-level mediation in the conflict after the Bush administration’s decision last week to suspend the mission of the U.S. envoy, Anthony Zinni.
