Three New Members Elected to JTA Board; Fox Re-elected President

Martin S. Fox, who was re-elected president of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, announced the election of three new members to the JTA Board of Directors. They are Henry Everett of New York, Stanley Levine of Pittsburgh, and Barbara Wiener of Milwaukee.

In addition, Fox announced the re-election of William M. Landau, as chairman of the board, Robert H. Arnow, chairman of the executive committee, and Raymond Epstein, Philip Slomovitz, Melvin Swig and Marshall Weinberg, as vice presidents. Also re-elected were Julius Berman, secretary, and Abraham Goodman, treasurer.

Everett is co-treasurer of the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York, vice-chairman of the American Zionist Youth Foundation, a vice-president of the Weizmann Institute of Science, and is on the Executive Board of the American ORT Federation.

Levine is a Pittsburgh Jewish community leader and president of the Jewish Chronicle of Pittsburgh, one of the leading American Jewish weeklies.

Barbara Wiener is chairman of the Young Women’s Leadership Cabinet of the United Jewish Appeal and active in Milwaukee Jewish communal affairs.

In making the official announcement of the elections which were held at the JTA Board of Directors meeting in New York June 12, Fox stated: “The three new Board members are deeply involved in Jewish community affairs and devoted to the cause of the Jewish people. Their expertise, insights and commitments to the Jewish community here and abroad will assure that the JTA continues to function world-wide as the ‘eyes and ears of the Jewish people.'”
