Three synagogues in this city were under police surveillance today following bomb threats received last night. Police were told by an anonymous caller that a bombing attack was planned. Police and firemen immediately searched Agudath Sholem, Temple Sinai, and Temple Beth-E1. No bomb was found. Police regarded the threats as an anti-Semitic hoax, but nevertheless, took precautions.
(In Columbia, Mo., home of the University of Missouri, this week-end a railroad fuse resembling a dynamite bomb was found on the porch of a Jewish student center. In Rochester, N. Y., 25 headstones were overturned in the cemetery of the Rochester Jewish Relief Organization. At Miami, anonymous telephone calls threatened to blow up three churches, one Catholic and the two Protestant. Police searched the premises of the three churches but found no bombs.)
