Three top U.S. officials are traveling to Israel this week to discuss Israel’s plan for a Gaza withdrawal. Steve Hadley, the deputy national security adviser; Elliott Abrams, President Bush’s top Middle East adviser; and William Burns, the top envoy to the region, will consult with their Israeli counterparts Wednesday and Thursday on how to carry out Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s withdrawal plan.
