The threshing floor in Wady Havarit, representing the season’s crop raised by the Jewish farmers of the colony of Nathania, which is named in honour of the late Nathan Straus, has been burned down. Arab incendiaries are suspected. The damage is extensive, and the fire raged for over four hours.

The Jewish settlements in the vicinity believed at first that it was a bonfire lighted for the occasion of Lag B’Omer. The Sheik of Wady Havarit when questioned similarly declared that he thought the Jews were celebrating their festival in that way.
