Fifteen suspects were detained for questioning today after a home-made time bomb was found on the crowded beach at Netanya. The suspects are all believed to be Arabs visiting from the administered territories. Police were called when someone spotted a suspicious-looking container among the beach chairs. It was found to contain explosives, a timing device, incendiary matchheads and nails which could have caused casualties over a fairly wide area had the device exploded. The 15 suspects were detained after police cordoned off the beach and conducted an identity check.
