A time bomb exploded in a Tel Aviv house today, killing Deputy Supt. of Police Shlom Shiff, 48, and wounding five constables, three of whom are in a serious condition.
An official report of the blast, issued by the police department here, states: “At 9:20 A.M. this morning an explosion was heard at 8 Yoel Street. Supt. Shiff and several constables immediately arrived on the scene, when a second bomb, believed to be a time bomb, exploded instantly. The injured officers are G. Y. Turtons, Z.V. Dichter and Nachum Goldman. The upper story of the house was completely demolished.”
