Quoting Nazi newspapers published in occupied Yugoslavia, the German radio today claimed that Marshal Tito is being aided by “a Jewish brain trust” in his fight against the German forces.
Listing a number of men associated with Tito in the fight for the liberation of Yugoslavia, the broadcast said: “Ales Bebler is a Galician of Jewish descent; Boris Kidric is a son of a Slovene woman married to a Hungarian Jew; Josip Vidmar has constantly and proudly emphasized his Jewish descent.”
In a broadcast in Arabic, the German radio today called upon the Arab world to combat Jewish efforts in Palestine. “From Tunis to Iraq, Jews have shown pro-Allied feelings and enthusiastically welcomed the Allied armies, contrary to the attitude of the Arabs, particularly those in Tunis who wept when they saw Germans taken prisoner,” the broadcast said.
