Yugoslav Marshal Tito, who is scheduled to arrive in Cairo for a visit of state today is expected to urge Premier Gamal Abdel Nasser to handle the Israel-Egyptian crisis “realistically” and to seek peace with Israel, it was reported here by Yugoslav sources. The Marshal, who will not seek the role of mediator, is understood to be planning to advise Col Nasser to recognize the State of Israel, as the first more in such a realistic” policy.
American government sources expressed approval here yesterday of any Middle East peace more by the Yugoslav Chief of State. The Americans feel that talking peace to either or both sides in the conflict is all to the good. Marshal Tito will remain in Cairo for ‘he next three or four days.
