The Hebrew daily, Davar, today confirms the Jewish Telegraphic Agency’s forecast, that land legislation prohibiting all land transfers in the rural areas without the permission of the High Commissioner is being drafted. The Davar recalls that such a law existed in 1921, and was applied to all purchases over $15,000 but was repealed because of the agitation of the Arab notables, including members of the Moslem Supreme Council.
