James G. McDonald, League of Nations High Commissioner for Refugees from Germany, will be given Pi Lambda Phi fraternity’s award for tolerance, it was announced yesterday by Arthur Garfield Hays, supreme rex of the fraternity.
A bejeweled gold medal will be presented to the High Commissioner at a dinner Friday evening at the Chemists’ Club, 50 Fast Forty-first street.
In a letter informing Mr. McDonald of his selection, Herbert R. Kraus, chairman of the national executive council of Pi Lambda Phi, wrote that the High Commissioner was chosen unanimously for the honor because he had “most convincingly achieved world-wide recognition as a true exponent of tolerance.”
