The beginning of Jewish self-government in Biro-Bidjan, recently granted autonomy by the Soviet government, will be celebrated Wednesday at a motorized torchlight procession which will start at Broadway and Eleventh street and move through the lower East Side to Williamsburg and Brownsville sections in Brooklyn.
Icor, national association for Jewish colonization in the U. S. S. R., is sponsoring the parade in which a number of other groups will participate. This will be preliminary to the big celebration planned for Madison Square Garden on Saturday evening, June 2, where 114 organizations will participate in the program, according to an announcement from the Icor. Speakers will include Reuben Brainin, writer and for many years vice-president of the Zionist Organization.
