Sentence will be imposed Monday by Judge Scott on fifteen alleged members of the Ku Klux Klan, who were found guilty of criminal assault upon a Jewish family at Long Beach.
The fifteen face prison terms ranging from one to ten years. They were found guilty after ten hours of deliberation.
The guilty group were part of a mob of fifty, garbed in the regalia of the Ku Klux Klan, who on the night of November 16th attacked the home of a Jewish tailor, David Milder. Milder, members of his family and some guests at the house were beaten up.
The Klan members broke into the house after burning a cross on the lawn of the Milder home.
The defense of the Klan members was that Milder and his family were Communists. This the family denied.
At first all but four of the Klansmen were released by the police. Later a summons was issued to sixteen to appear before a Grand Jury, which held fifteen for trial.
