Newly elected officers of the board of directors of the Jacob H Schiff Center in the Bronx will be inducted at official installation exercises this evening in the auditorium at Valentine Avenue and Fordham Road. At the same time a report will be rendered on the progress of the Schiff Center Hebrew School’s tenth anniversary membership drive which was launched a week ago.
Max Kraus, member of the New York Zionist Region, is president of the board for the fourth consecutive year. S. L. Zavon was reelected first vice-president. Charles Gillman was named second vicepresident and Irving S. Rappaport again seves as third vice-president.
For the tenth consecutive year Simon Blum is treasurer, while Henry N. Rappaport and Nathan Greenwald are reelected recording and financial secretaries, respectively.
Rabbi Alexander Basel, executive director of the Center, announces that the Hebrew School membership, which terminates March 1, has set a goal of 1,000 new members.
