Rabbi Milton Steinberg will be inducted as the spiritual leader of the Park Avenue Synagogue, 50 East 87th Street, Friday evening, September 15, it was announced yesterday by Jacob J. Friedman, president of the Synagogue. The ceremonies will be simple. David J. Putterman is to be inducted as cantor.
Dr. Steinberg has returned from Indianapolis where he was rabbi of Congregation Beth El Zedek in that city. He was educated at the Jewish Theological Seminary of New York City and at Columbia University where he received his master’s degree in religious philosophy. He graduated at City College summa cum laude and was an instructor there. He succeeds Rabbi Gabriel Schulman.
