Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope, Palestine High Commissioner, promised Isaac Ben Zwi, leader of the Histadruth, the Palestine workers’ federation, and Moshe Shertok, Laborite member of the new Zionist Executive, an interview to consider the Jewish Agency schedule of labor certificates for the coming six months.
The High Commissioner will see the Palestinian labor leaders upon his return from his holiday at the island of Rhodes, at the end of October.
Earlier this week there was a report that the Jewish Agency had requested 24,700 labor immigration certificates from the government of Palestine. Attempts to confirm the story failed.
With the demand for the certificates a memorandum was submitted giving the fullest details upon which the request was based.
